The first thing I did when I received the Straits Times, was to look for the page on the US elections. This has been my first task every morning, since I landed in this Old Folks facility. I was told that I would get dementia if I do not keep myself occupied. So here we are at the closing of 2008, waiting for 4th November. A date which has kept citizens riveted to the news, since a black man, a woman and a great hero of the Vietnam war started slugging it out for the once in a life-time Prize of becoming President of the United States of America.
Now here comes another to keep the Campaign interesting. And how interesting? Because another woman has come into the arena, Mrs Sarah Palin. Funny, I would have thought that all the beauties would have fallen over each other to be the Darling of the Republican Party. But it seems that no one seems to like her except for the Main Person (the hero) of the Vietnam War. But nothing seems to go the way, that the Governor was HOPING for. So there we are waiting anxiously for next Tuesday. I wonder if Obama will be able sleep for the next week or so. And, I wonder what a great disappointment it is going to be to for Mrs Payling. (Sorry Mummy I will not be able to be the Commander in Chief).
Now, to cap it all, White racists are waiting to kill Mr Obama. Year 2009 is really going to be interesting. So all this drama, will surely help me to keep away from dementia. Lots to think about.
So come on Obama. Don't let us down.
